What to Known about Raritan NJ?

Raritan Borough, not to be confused with Raritan Township, is a small little borough located almost directly in the center of Somerset County. Raritan Borough was originally incorporated back in the late 1800’s and it was considered a subdivision of Bridgewater. After a series of issues, Raritan Borough gained their independence in the 1940’s. As of 2010, the borough had a population of just under 7,000, which is up about 10% from the 2000 Census. For a relatively small borough, it does have two major roadways cutting right throughout it, Route 206 and Route 202. Those two roadways probably play a major factor in why the Raritan Municipal Court is forced to deal with about 50 drunk driving charges each and every year.
